British Cassis celebrates its 5th birthday with the launch of two stunning “Taste of Herefordshire” alcoholic mixers.

To celebrate her 5th successful year as the award winning producer of British Cassis, owner Jo Hilditch and her team are launching two delicious alcoholic summer mixers at this year’s BBC Good Food Show, Birmingham 15th - 19th June.  With a salute to the outstanding fruit producing heritage of Herefordshire, the team have created a British Fraise and a British Poire.

These delicious summery mixers are made with locally grown and pressed pear and strawberry juice.  The juice is naturally fermented using champagne yeast and thanks to this very natural process, produces mixers with an intense but fresh taste.

The British Poire has a sprig of rosemary added which lends an accent of flavour that lifts and compliments the pears. The British Fraise is fabulously fruity and has a sweet summery note. These mixers are stunning poured over ice and drunk as an aperitif, or even as a pudding wine, but they work equally well as a long drink with a tonic water or soda.

The entire range of artisan mixers is expertly produced at the Whittern Estate in Herefordshire. Since production began 5 years ago the brand has gained reputation nationwide with an increasing number of awards and accolades adorning the tasting room walls. The new products join the existing range of products including; British Cassis, British Framboise and the delicious and much reviewed British Steeped Blackcurrants - a perfect luxury store cupboard staple.

The range is also increasingly being used in cocktail bars, pubs and restaurants across the UK and due to the team’s passion to produce a naturally brewed product the brand is gaining notoriety amongst restaurant and food commentators. British Cassis has already become a firm favourite with the Hairy Bikers and is stocked by the likes of Fortnum & Masons.

The full product range will be available for tasting at this year’s BBC Good Food Show. All of the mixers are available to purchase at £13.50 for 375ml and the steeped blackcurrants in Cassis £6 per jar (Stand LUD7). The products are also available to buy online at www.britishcassis.co.uk and at a number of select deli’s and food emporiums.
